Good morning from Brussels and first day to work after our fantastic holiday in South Africa. Today the sky is blue but temperature in the morning was only +3 degrees after having frozen in the night. I had to scrape my windscreen. Winter is on its way.
Once again I want to thank all your team for the great way that you took care of us. We felt sorry leaving Leopard Mountain Lodge. Watching yesterday the dvd that we received from you brought back some great memories.
A special thanks to our rangers Tavis, Wesley and Ivor who taught us patience and how to appreciate also the little creatures such as bugs, birds and plants. It’s not only the Big 5 that count. Wonderful.
I send the whole team at Leopard Mountain Game Lodge – including kitchen and cleaning staff - my, Paula’s and Tina’s best regards and thanks for an unforgettable stay. Keep on with the great way that you treat your guests.

I would like to give a special mention to Chase for his knowledge and insight on so many species. He really was an added bonus to our stay. We booked to go to Leopard Mountain with one day's notice as the place we wanted to go in Kruger was full - this was definitely no bad thing, as Leopard Mountain was stunning. A fantastic lodge, complemented by the most amazing views and extremely helpful staff meant we had an incredible two night stay. The guys that do the game drives are so passionate about what they do, and will go out of their way to make your stay as relaxing as they can. Each night we had a 4 course dinner round a log fire complemented by a wide choice of wine from the lodge's cellar. The lodge is in Zululand Rhino Reserve, which is a Big Five reserve now 3 lions have been introduced in early 2011 (we were lucky enough to see them one night too!). If you want game drives that are informative, fun, and with no sense of rush, this is the place to go - some mornings we were out for nearly 4 hours. One of the other couples commented how different to Kruger this was, as we didn't see anyone else on the drives, and were off the main road a lot of the time. Apparently Kruger felt quite touristy - this felt like we had our own private reserve! There may, however, be better reserves to go to if you purely want to see the Big Five quickly, for example Hluhluwe-Imfolozi, which can be a day trip from Leopard Mountain, where there are larger populations of some species. During our stay we saw plenty of game, including black and white rhino, lions, buffalo, wilderbeest, many of the antelope family, monkeys, hundreds of birds and who could forget the giraffe that greeted us every morning near the lodge! I couldn't recommend this lodge more highly - a truly wonderful place, with beautiful rooms, great staff and a view to die for!

Having young kids with us was a trial and your team of babysitters and staff really did well to accommodate us. The highlight for us where the special occasion dinner for our anniversary. Rory and I where spoilt with time for ourselves. The game drives at the lodge where amazing as we managed to see the big five without having to leave the property. Thanks to Rylie, Werner and Chase for their company and stories on the game drives, they were very entertaining. The food I must say was fabulous, fresh and delicious. We would just like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone for making our honeymoon trip so very special. When we stayed as guests at your lodge from the 15th to the 19th of August this year, we were treated far more than guests, we were treated as royalty!
From the very moment we set foot upon your beautiful grounds we were shown warmth, respect and true, good nature. We were pampered in so many ways, from the fantastic food to the wonderful and informative game drives. Your grounds were fantastic, with breathtaking views and sunsets, and seeing how much everyone cared for the animals was phenomenal. We had such a wonderful time and it was sad to have to leave, but we've been bragging to all our friends and family about our stay, and you've been highly recommended by us!
A special thanks to Chase and Wesley, who were our game drivers for our stay. They were highly informative and showed a true passion for their work that made our drives even more exciting. We hope to see them again when we next come through, and this time we'll try and bring some friends so that we can have them and a vehicle to ourselves.

Thank you very much for a truely wonderful weekend. You guys made us feel so special and we had a wonderful time. I cannot believe how quickly I got into the relaxed mode and enjoyed myself.
We travel to game reserves regularly and I must say that the standard of your guided game drive and the knowledge that Wesley imparted was great. I learnt a few things. I also appreciated the time we spent with the Elephants on Sat afternoon. It was so nice not to be wisked off after 5 minutes and to spend some quality time observing them.

What a joy to receive the feedback from my mom and dad (Lyall and Val Lloyd-Evans) after their stay with you on Saturday and Sunday....
Besides the beauty of the venue (which I do know having been there with a Bayside Aluminium Team some years back) they were taken by the hospitality – said that it felt like being with family, home away from home - the food which was delicious and in abundance - the room (especially the heated beds and Cherry on their return from dinner) - to the knowledge of the gentleman who took them on the game drive were just some of the things they raved about. It appears that you are running a stunning lodge with attention to the smallest detail which is making all the difference. They took the advice given them and returned home to Richards Bay via the Hlulhuwe Game Reserve, but still rate Leopard Mountain as the venue they would be willing to dig into their pension fund for just to have another visit.
I will await the return of our girls from their cycling in Belgium to watch the DVD you sent back with them. I will also feedback to the Big Five Committee on this amazing prize that was sponsored by your lodge.

Dear all at Leopard Mountain Lodge
Thank you for your email. Yes, we arrived back safely in a chilly UK yesterday after a wonderful trip to South Africa and Lesotho.
We really enjoyed our stay at Leopard Mountain and loved the way you managed to make us feel like real guests: everything was so friendly, informal and relaxed, and yet the standard of service and facilities was excellent. It was everything we could have hoped for, including the delicious food. James was a bit worried when I suggested that we would not need the lunch basket, but after your wonderful breakfast, no more was said!
The highlight of our game drives was seeing the cheetah wandering along the track, bellies full from a recent kill, and following them down to a waterhole where one very cautiously lapped from a muddy puddle at the edge. Clearly even predators take precautions. It was a real treat to be able to spend such a long time with them and I have posted a comment on your blog.
We will definitely let Rainbow Tours know how much we approved of their choice of lodge and recommend you to any other friends visiting SA.

Jacquie and I want to say a "very big thank you" to you and your wonderful team for you generous hospitality and attention.We were happy to see that the Lodge had not changed, still the lovely, warm inviting place that we remembered.
The food was excellent andweare sure that everyone appreciates the great breakfasts. Your tea time treatssurely must break downany dieter'sresistance, especially those little chocolate cakes! Unfortunately we didn't get to try the picnic basket, we were both so well fed, but Jacquie did see one and said it was beautifully done. No one should ever under estimate the power of good food.
It was great to see so many animals on our game drives and also at the hide. Johan and Riley were excellent guides and shared their knowledge with us in an informative and entertaining way. We think the hide is great addition to the "things to do list". We could happily have parked off there for the whole afternoon - "ifwe leave now whatare we going to miss" sort of thing.
As you know Jacquie has travelled widely and been to many places but, like me thinks that Leopard Mountain is a very special place.

Dear Everyone at Leopard Mountain,
Thank you for this email – we arrived home this morning so it is very good timing!
We did all enjoy ourselves enormously – I was going to drop you an email to say how lovely we all thought your Lodge was – excellent service, excellent scenery, lovely food and just such a relaxing atmosphere in a very special location. We left you for the Drakensberg Mountains and then 4 days at the beach in amazing sunshine – and back to England for us and only 9 degrees!
We were particularly impressed with Letishia – she was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly and obliging to do what we wanted to do and see – we have all been to safari lodges at various times over the last few years so have seen the Big 5 but it is the experience that we were going for this time and Letishia certainly helped us with that – including getting us all to try the Sour Plum!! Not to be forgotten!! And Oriel was extremely patient with our 'birthday boy' in the bar on one particular evening! He was a treasure and so helpful.
I also intend to put a very positive update on Trip Advisor which is a very popular website in England as I think you deserve a high rating and I hope you continue to achieve your high standards. We may not be back (only because we rarely go to the same place twice) but we will definitely be recommending you to all our friends both here in England and South Africa.
We loved it all and have lots of photos to wade through! Many thanks to you all for your wonderful hospitality and letting us share your very special neck of the world!

Dear Linda, Johann, Rylie, Zee & the all the others at Leopard Mountain that we did not take time to personally meet but who far exceeded our expectations from a friendliness, warmth, hospitality, and professional point of view -
Thank You seems such an inadequate word to use to express our sincere appreciating and gratitude.
We had a lovely return trip not to mention a wonderful boat cruse at St. Lucia during which we sighted Hippo, a few Crocs, birds, fish as well as prawns. The weather, as you know, was not the greatest yesterday which prevented us seeing more of the evasive hippos and, or Crocs – nonetheless amazing.
We look forward to receiving Leopard Mountain's updates and YES to returning to your home soon, as of all the places we visited, none as come anywhere as close to being branded our home away from home.

Hi Leopard Mountain Team,
Thanks to all of you for your attention and dedication to your work this past weekend, ie spoiling your guests. You are real experts at doing this. From our arrival and greeting from Linda to the game drives with Ruaan, Johann and Rylie and the smiling faces at dinner with you all and Zee, the total experience for Carole and I was awesome. We really enjoyed our stay at Leopard Mountain. The food was excellent, the service was top class and the enthusiasm and knowledge of the guys on the game drives was great to experience.
Leopard Mountain team can pride itself on what they do and they and the lodge do not have to stand back for any of the "recognized" lodges. Leopard Mountain gives the impression of being a happy family enjoying what they do and working together.
We also really enjoyed the diversity of the reserve. My favourites were the river sections with the big trees and the mountainous sections. The game viewing was better than a lot of lodges we have been to in the past. The view from the lodges was fantastic. Sitting on the deck watching kudu and nyala in the river bed was a bonus.

Hi Nicky,
We would like to thank you for a fantastic 2 nights we spent at your lodge. The setting is amazing, the food was great as was your selection of wine.
I felt like we had been able to rest for much longer that the short stay we spent with your fantastic staff. I have been to a number of lodges over the years and can honestly say that this last weekend was one of the best.
Nothing appeared to inconvenience the rangers nor the delightful ladies handling front of desk. The game drive we did was great (although my camera decided to pack up!) as was the few hours spent at the hide.
We will certainly be back.

May I say thank you to you and all your staff for a most enjoyable, if brief, stay at Leopard Mountain Game Lodge. Ken and I had a fabulous time. We thought the accommodationwas well thought out and very comfortable, the food was excellent and the staff were welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. The game drives were good fun andalthough some of the bigger game was a little shy, we thoroughly enjoyed being out in the bush with Johann. All in all, we couldn't fault anything so thank you for your very kind hospitality.
As we mentioned when we met, we have been looking for a good four star lodge to fill a gap in our database andwe will have no hesitation in recommending the lodge to those of our travellers visiting KZN and looking for a superb bush experience at four star rather than five star price levels.

Just a quick note from Noel and myself to say
thanks again for such wonderful stay at Leopard Mountain Lodge.
Although it is very nice to see "big'' game , we really appreciated
the time that Johan and Ruan took to make the game drives
really really interesting. There is so much more to the bush
and every game drive left us wanting more!!
We would also like to compliment the chef, who is very talented
and obviously knows good food. His chocolate tart was to DIE for!
We had the most wonderful time and felt quite sad when
we had to leave, which is a good sign! It rained so in Cape Town, that the pilot had to abort
the landing here, diverted us to PE, refueled and flew back ..to
clear skies!! THEN we wanted to move to Hluhluwe like you
can't believe!!

Thank you very much for a truely wonderful weekend. You guys made us feel so special and we had a wonderful time. I cannot believe how quickly I got into the relaxed mode and enjoyed myself.
We travel to game reserves regularly and I must say that the standard of your guided game drive and the knowledge that Wesley imparted was great. I learnt a few things. I also appreciated the time we spent with the Elephants on Sat afternoon. It was so nice not to be wisked off after 5 minutes and to spend some quality time observing them.

What a joy to receive the feedback from my mom and dad (Lyall and Val Lloyd-Evans) after their stay with you on Saturday and Sunday....
Besides the beauty of the venue (which I do know having been there with a Bayside Aluminium Team some years back) they were taken by the hospitality – said that it felt like being with family, home away from home - the food which was delicious and in abundance - the room (especially the heated beds and Cherry on their return from dinner) - to the knowledge of the gentleman who took them on the game drive were just some of the things they raved about. It appears that you are running a stunning lodge with attention to the smallest detail which is making all the difference. They took the advice given them and returned home to Richards Bay via the Hlulhuwe Game Reserve, but still rate Leopard Mountain as the venue they would be willing to dig into their pension fund for just to have another visit.
I will await the return of our girls from their cycling in Belgium to watch the DVD you sent back with them. I will also feedback to the Big Five Committee on this amazing prize that was sponsored by your lodge.
Thank you for taking such good care of my folks and making it a weekend that they will always remember.

Thank you for your email. Yes, we arrived back safely in a chilly UK yesterday after a wonderful trip to South Africa and Lesotho.
We really enjoyed our stay at Leopard Mountain and loved the way you managed to make us feel like real guests: everything was so friendly, informal and relaxed, and yet the standard of service and facilities was excellent. It was everything we could have hoped for, including the delicious food. James was a bit worried when I suggested that we would not need the lunch basket, but after your wonderful breakfast, no more was said!
The highlight of our game drives was seeing the cheetah wandering along the track, bellies full from a recent kill, and following them down to a waterhole where one very cautiously lapped from a muddy puddle at the edge. Clearly even predators take precautions. It was a real treat to be able to spend such a long time with them and I have posted a comment on your blog.
We will definitely let Rainbow Tours know how much we approved of their choice of lodge and recommend you to any other friends visiting SA.

Jacquie and I want to say a "very big thank you" to you and your wonderful team for you generous hospitality and attention.We were happy to see that the Lodge had not changed, still the lovely, warm inviting place that we remembered.
The food was excellent andweare sure that everyone appreciates the great breakfasts. Your tea time treatssurely must break downany dieter'sresistance, especially those little chocolate cakes! Unfortunately we didn't get to try the picnic basket, we were both so well fed, but Jacquie did see one and said it was beautifully done. No one should ever under estimate the power of good food.
It was great to see so many animals on our game drives and also at the hide. Johan and Riley were excellent guides and shared their knowledge with us in an informative and entertaining way. We think the hide is great addition to the "things to do list". We could happily have parked off there for the whole afternoon - "ifwe leave now whatare we going to miss" sort of thing.
As you know Jacquie has travelled widely and been to many places but, like me thinks that Leopard Mountain is a very special place.

Dear Everyone at Leopard Mountain,
Thank you for this email – we arrived home this morning so it is very good timing!
We did all enjoy ourselves enormously – I was going to drop you an email to say how lovely we all thought your Lodge was – excellent service, excellent scenery, lovely food and just such a relaxing atmosphere in a very special location. We left you for the Drakensberg Mountains and then 4 days at the beach in amazing sunshine – and back to England for us and only 9 degrees!
We were particularly impressed with Letishia – she was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly and obliging to do what we wanted to do and see – we have all been to safari lodges at various times over the last few years so have seen the Big 5 but it is the experience that we were going for this time and Letishia certainly helped us with that – including getting us all to try the Sour Plum!! Not to be forgotten!! And Oriel was extremely patient with our 'birthday boy' in the bar on one particular evening! He was a treasure and so helpful.
I also intend to put a very positive update on Trip Advisor which is a very popular website in England as I think you deserve a high rating and I hope you continue to achieve your high standards. We may not be back (only because we rarely go to the same place twice) but we will definitely be recommending you to all our friends both here in England and South Africa.
We loved it all and have lots of photos to wade through! Many thanks to you all for your wonderful hospitality and letting us share your very special neck of the world!

We had a lovely return trip not to mention a wonderful boat cruse at St. Lucia during which we sighted Hippo, a few Crocs, birds, fish as well as prawns. The weather, as you know, was not the greatest yesterday which prevented us seeing more of the evasive hippos and, or Crocs – nonetheless amazing.
We look forward to receiving Leopard Mountain's updates and YES to returning to your home soon, as of all the places we visited, none as come anywhere as close to being branded our home away from home.

Thanks to all of you for your attention and dedication to your work this past weekend, ie spoiling your guests. You are real experts at doing this. From our arrival and greeting from Linda to the game drives with Ruaan, Johann and Rylie and the smiling faces at dinner with you all and Zee, the total experience for Carole and I was awesome. We really enjoyed our stay at Leopard Mountain. The food was excellent, the service was top class and the enthusiasm and knowledge of the guys on the game drives was great to experience.
Leopard Mountain team can pride itself on what they do and they and the lodge do not have to stand back for any of the "recognized" lodges. Leopard Mountain gives the impression of being a happy family enjoying what they do and working together.
We also really enjoyed the diversity of the reserve. My favourites were the river sections with the big trees and the mountainous sections. The game viewing was better than a lot of lodges we have been to in the past. The view from the lodges was fantastic. Sitting on the deck watching kudu and nyala in the river bed was a bonus.

We would like to thank you for a fantastic 2 nights we spent at your lodge. The setting is amazing, the food was great as was your selection of wine.
I felt like we had been able to rest for much longer that the short stay we spent with your fantastic staff. I have been to a number of lodges over the years and can honestly say that this last weekend was one of the best.
Nothing appeared to inconvenience the rangers nor the delightful ladies handling front of desk. The game drive we did was great (although my camera decided to pack up!) as was the few hours spent at the hide.

The game drives were good fun andalthough some of the bigger game was a little shy, we thoroughly enjoyed being out in the bush with Johann. All in all, we couldn't fault anything so thank you for your very kind hospitality.
As we mentioned when we met, we have been looking for a good four star lodge to fill a gap in our database andwe will have no hesitation in recommending the lodge to those of our travellers visiting KZN and looking for a superb bush experience at four star rather than five star price levels.

Although it is very nice to see "big'' game , we really appreciated

I want to say a big thank you to all of you, Rudolph, Johann, Linda, Charl & Hilke for an absolutely fantabulous weekend.
Charl, we really appreciate the extra effort that you made for our vegetarian diet.....it was scrumptous. We were very sad to leave.
I am sure that the Viviers family is aware of how blessed they are to have such a dedicated, warm and friendly team to manage their gem. Our chalet was
simply amazing and Seelen cannot stop talking about his special evening for his birthday. It was really amazing. Thank you.
We have spoken about your lodge to just about every person that we met since and told them that if they want to experience a little part of paradise
that they "must " visit your lodge.
