Good morning everybody!
I trust that you all are having a great week so far and that you all are looking forward to the weekend!
The cooler weather has brought out some rarer species and the nocturnal species have been more active in the early afternoon. On an evening game drive, tracking lions we finally found them at a nearby waterhole. On arrival we noticed ostrich feathers entangled in small bushes and then saw one of the lions dragging away a fresh ostrich kill only for the brother to arrive in excitement and pounce on the ostrich. He then continued to play with the kill only meters away from the vehicle.
The hide has also been spoiling guests with some great sightings of plains game, giraffes and a herd of 80-90 buffalo. We have also been spoiled with rare sightings of Red and Grey Duiker during the day.
Some of our bird sightings: Purple Roller, male and female Bateleurs, immature Martial Eagle, Forest Weavers, Square Tailed Drongo’s, Black Shouldered Kites, Eastern Nicator,
Have a great week, and an even better weekend,
The Ranger Team
