Good day fellow readers.
This week it’s been very interesting week for both vehicles have been going out almost every day now, and therefore great excitement amongst the guests as we are finding loads of fun and interesting things.
This past week Leopard Mountain Game Lodge has been very lucky with leopards. We have managed to find four of these amazing yet elusive cats. As for the lions they have been avoiding us and have been very difficult to find. Having said this, we did have an amazing sighting last night of three male lions roaring right in front of the vehicle. This sent cold shivers down the backs of the spines of most of my guests.
A few more amazing sightings this week have been wild dog just relaxing in the river bed, to the rare aardvark just walking down the main road minding his own business. Porcupine’s been seen both in the day and the night up close and personal with the vehicles. Rhinos, buffaloes, genets, and bushbaby are a few more things that we have seen this week.
The bird life has been fantastic especially around the Game Lodge, with the scarlet breasted sunbirds and the white bellied sunbirds, in their magnificent colours fighting over the Aloe flowers. These birds had been so relaxed around the Lodge that they allow one to get within a few metres of them, and this even makes the novice photographer take the most stunning pictures.
Till next week’s instalments,
The Ranger team
